Ugnayang Diwa
The Consulate General of the Philippines (Toronto) presents the Philippine Artists Group (PAG), the only organization of selected visual artists of Filipino origin in Ontario and one of the only possible two in the whole of Canada, as it returns to the Neilson Park Creative Centre gallery for its 14th annual art exhibition to celebrate the 104th anniversary of the declaration of Philippine independence. This year’s theme “Ugnayang Diwa” – Art Beyond Borders” reflects the common thoughts, reflections and aspirations of its members and their guests as expressed in their art. The show runs from June 3 to 24.

Philippine Consul General Susan Castrence and Mr. Manuel Arnaldo of the PNB Remittance Co. will be the guests-of-honour when the show formally opens on Saturday, June 8 at 2 pm. This year’s exhibitors include Romi C. MananQuil, president of the group; Ed Araquel, Frank Cruzet, Art B. Cunanan, Jhun Diamante, Tony Doctor, Dunluna, Rocille Lampitoc, Rolando Lampitoc Jr, Rol P. Lampitoc, Tony Leyco, Maripi Leynes, Omel Masalunga, Mogi Mogado, Calixto Quiachon, Ramon Romero, and Frank Tonido. GUEST ARTISTS are Maria Madonna Davidoff from New York and Socorro de Ocampo from the Philippines.

The Philippine Artists Group (PAG) returns to the Neilson Park Art Centre Gallery with its 13th annual exhibit from June 8 to 24. This year’s theme “Ugnayang Diwa” or “Art Beyond Borders” reflects the common thoughts, reflections and aspirations of its members expressed in their art. The exhibit serves as a venue for this expression.

Manuel Arnaldo, president of PNB Remittance Company Canada, will cut the ribbon on opening day at 2 p.m. Philippine Consul General Susan Castrence and her staff and invited members of the community will grace the occasion. Refreshments, consisting of native delicacies, will follow the short program.
